1. Introduction and Acceptance

Welcome to eTrend Gigs. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the eTrend Gigs website, mobile pages, and related services (the "Platform"). By registering for an account, accessing the Platform, or using any of its features, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the Platform. These Terms apply to all visitors, registered users, businesses, and freelancers.

2. About the Platform

eTrend Gigs is an online marketplace that connects businesses with a community of freelancers who complete simple online tasks and micro-jobs. Businesses can publish tasks such as follows, likes, comments, reviews, and shares, and freelancers can complete those tasks to receive rewards.

The Platform acts solely as an intermediary. We do not guarantee any specific level of engagement, income, sales, or followers. Results depend on the activity of users and market factors outside our control.

3. Eligibility and Account Registration

To use the Platform, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction).
• Register only one account per person. Duplicate accounts are not permitted.
• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• Keep your login credentials confidential and not share them with anyone.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. If you suspect unauthorized access, you must notify us immediately.

4. Account Verification Fee

Registering on eTrend Gigs is free. Before a freelancer account can be activated to receive and complete paid tasks, we require a one-time, non-refundable account verification fee of ₦1,000.

This fee is not a subscription, not a commission, and not a charge for access to the Platform itself. It is a security and identity-verification measure that exists to protect the entire eTrend Gigs ecosystem — businesses, freelancers, and the platform itself. Below is a full explanation of why this fee is required.

Why We Require a Verification Fee

Because eTrend Gigs involves real monetary rewards, our platform is a target for automated scripts, bots, and organised fraud attempts. Without a barrier to entry, our community would be flooded with non-genuine accounts that undermine the rewards that honest freelancers work hard to earn. The verification fee acts as that barrier.

Specifically, the fee exists for the following reasons:

• To block bots and automated scripts from registering. Automated programs and scripts can register hundreds or thousands of accounts in minutes because they face no cost. By requiring a small one-time payment, we make it economically impractical for bot operators to mass-create fake accounts. This is one of the most effective ways to filter out non-human registrations.
• To prevent non-human and fake traffic from being paid rewards. Without verification, automated accounts could accept tasks and submit fake proof, siphoning rewards away from genuine users. The verification fee dramatically reduces this kind of non-human traffic on the platform, ensuring that rewards go to real people who actually complete tasks.
• To confirm that a real, accountable person is behind each account. A payment tied to a real payment method — bank, card, or mobile money — is difficult to fake at scale. This confirms that a genuine, identifiable person is registering, not an anonymous script or someone hiding behind fake credentials.
• To prevent abusive and bulk registration. Our platform has experienced cases in the past where a single individual created multiple fake accounts to claim rewards unfairly, game the referral system, or manipulate tasks. The verification fee discourages this behaviour and makes bulk registration economically unviable.
• To protect businesses and employers. Businesses pay for tasks and expect them to be completed by real, accountable users. Verifying new users before activation significantly reduces the number of automated, duplicate, or fraudulent accounts attempting to interact with businesses on our platform.
• To reduce fake engagement rings and organised fraud. Some bad actors operate coordinated groups that use automation to fake engagement at scale. By imposing a small cost per account, we make it much harder for these groups to operate, because each fake identity would carry a real financial cost.
• To fund ongoing fraud detection and abuse prevention. Verification is not a one-time event. We continually monitor registration activity, investigate suspicious behaviour, and remove fraudulent accounts. The verification fee contributes directly to the cost of this ongoing work.
• To raise the overall quality of the community. Users who complete a small verification step are, on average, more serious and reliable than anonymous registrations. This improves the experience for businesses and reduces the number of no-shows, incomplete tasks, and abandoned accounts.

Businesses and employers who only want to publish tasks are not required to pay this verification fee. It applies only to users who intend to complete tasks and earn rewards. This is because the risks — bot registrations, fake task completion, and reward abuse — apply specifically to the earning side of the platform.

5. Earning Rewards and Withdrawals

Freelancers are rewarded for each task they complete and that a business approves. Rewards are credited to your eTrend Gigs wallet once a task has been approved.

• Minimum withdrawal amount: ₦200.
• Withdrawal processing time: Typically processed within the same business day. Delays may occur due to bank network issues or verification checks.
• Approval: Businesses have the right to review and reject submissions that do not meet the requirements stated in the task. Rejected submissions are not paid for.

Because your earnings depend on how many tasks you complete and how many are approved by businesses, we cannot promise a specific income. Users who complete more tasks typically earn more rewards, but results vary by person and by the tasks available at any given time.

Any attempt to manipulate the system — for example, by submitting false proof, using automated tools, creating multiple accounts, or colluding with others — will result in the immediate suspension of your account and a permanent ban from the Platform.

6. Referral Program

eTrend Gigs offers a referral program that allows users to invite others to the Platform. Referral rewards are credited only when a referred user registers with valid, accurate information and completes the account verification requirement described in Section 4 above.

Referral rewards are not paid for fake accounts, duplicate accounts, or accounts that are abandoned before verification. If we determine that a referral was made through fraudulent means — such as creating fake identities to generate referral rewards — the reward will be cancelled and the referring user's account may be suspended.

Referral rewards are limited to a reasonable number of genuine referrals per user. We reserve the right to cap referral rewards, investigate suspicious referral activity, and reverse rewards that appear to result from abuse.

7. User Responsibilities and Conduct

By using the Platform, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information during registration and keep it up to date.
• Complete tasks honestly and in accordance with the instructions provided.
• Not submit false, misleading, or manipulated task proof.
• Not create or operate more than one account.
• Not use bots, scripts, emulators, or automation tools of any kind on the Platform.
• Not impersonate eTrend Gigs, its team members, or any business on the Platform.
• Not use the Platform to promote, engage in, or facilitate illegal activity.
• Not attempt to cheat, hack, exploit, or disrupt the Platform or other users.
• Not share your account credentials with anyone else.
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.
• Respect the intellectual property rights of others.
• Report any suspicious activity or violation of these Terms to us promptly.

We may, at our discretion, suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, with or without prior notice.

8. Content and Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform, including logos, text, graphics, page layout, and design elements, is the property of eTrend Gigs or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or republish any part of the Platform without our prior written permission, except where explicitly permitted by law.

By submitting content to the Platform (such as task proof or messages), you grant us a limited license to use that content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Platform.

9. Modifications to the Platform and Terms

eTrend Gigs reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms periodically. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Platform after any update indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.

It is your responsibility to review these Terms regularly.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, eTrend Gigs, its team, and its affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Platform, including but not limited to:

• Loss of income, revenue, or profits.
• Loss of data or account access.
• Interruption of service or technical failures.
• Actions or content of other users, businesses, or freelancers.

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the reliability, availability, or suitability of the Platform for any specific purpose.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless eTrend Gigs and its team from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms, engaged in fraudulent activity, or posed a risk to other users. Upon termination, any pending balances may be forfeited if the termination is due to fraud, abuse, or a serious violation of these Terms.

13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from the use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Kwara State, Nigeria.

Before pursuing formal legal action, we encourage users to contact us first so we can attempt to resolve any issue through our support channels.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be severed, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
